This is a half day spent on the historic core of Hail. You are collected from your hotel and driven between three landmarks: A'arif Fort, which has stood on its hilltop since 1256 AH / 1840 CE and was built as a military stronghold; Barzan Palace, in the middle of the city; and Al Qishlah Palace, commissioned by King Abdulaziz.
Between the stops there is time to walk the surrounding streets at a slow pace, and on a clear day you can see the Aja Mountains, the granite range crossed by valleys, springs and small villages. If you also want the region's rock art, Umm Senman Mountain at Jubbah is a separate full day.
