This half day is spent at the National Museum of Saudi Arabia and the historical centre it stands in, close to the middle of Riyadh. The galleries run from the prehistoric ages through to the modern era, with interactive displays and multimedia presentations set along the route.
No ticket is needed to enter the museum, so the pace is set by what holds your attention rather than by a booking slot. The walking is flat and mostly indoors, which makes this a workable option in the hotter part of the day. Anyone who wants the street-level side of the capital as well usually adds Al Masmak Palace on a second half day.
