A half day on the high ground at Al-Soudah, above Abha. You are collected from your hotel and driven up out of the city to the escarpment, where the ground falls away and the view opens over the lower country. The vehicle stops at several points along the edge, so you get out, walk a short distance and take your time with the camera instead of shooting through a window.
Aseer is a highland region with a mild climate, so this runs as a morning or an afternoon and suits anyone who would rather look at one landscape properly than tick off a list. If you also want the stone village of Rijal Almaa Heritage Village, it lies 45 km from Abha and is better given a day of its own.
Day by day
