A full day in Najran built around Al-Ukhdud, the ancient site southwest of the city. Its history reaches back to ancient times and it is tied to the story of Ashab Al-Ukhdood, the people of the ditch, which is mentioned in the Quran. Entry needs no ticket, and the visitor centre inside the site, covering about 300 square metres, lays out what has been found in the ground here.
The rest of the day goes to Najran's old architecture: the Emirate Palace in the Aba Al-Saud neighbourhood, known as Al-Balad, and Al-Aan Palace. If you have longer in the region, the Hima Cultural Area, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2021 and set on one of the peninsula's ancient caravan routes, needs a day of its own.

Morning
Pick-up from your hotel and the drive out to Al-Ukhdud. You walk the site with the guide, then go through the visitor centre inside it.
Afternoon
Back into the city for the Emirate Palace in the Aba Al-Saud neighbourhood, with a break for lunch, and then Al-Aan Palace.
Late afternoon
A last stop for photographs of the old architecture before you are returned to your hotel.
